Job Coach

Provide job coaching and intern support an individual that works as a deburrer is a manufacturing CNC shop in Valencia, Ca. The individual being supported is responsible for setting up and operating machinery that grinds, smooths and buffs mass-produced parts. Much of the job entails grinding and removing excess material — known as burrs — from surfaces during the post-production process. Hand and power tools are also used to smooth burrs and the sharp edges of metal parts created.

• Will work hands-on to support and assist individuals to be successful on the job/internship.
• Will adjust coaching supports, intensity, and frequency depending on the person’s support needs.
• Person will be trained to conduct task analysis, develop and implement tools and techniques individually to each person, and provide the support outlined by a collaboration with the employee, JNCS, and the employer.
• Provide the necessary accommodations to support an individual with various challenges (behavioral, physical, communication, etc.) within their home and community
• Support the individual to establish a daily/weekly schedule of activities.
• Act as a mentor and role model for socially acceptable and culturally valued ways to interact and support each other to be successful
• Participate hands-on in all activities
• Assist and support the person to maintain their own personal safety and well-being
• Provide information to family members about the unique needs of the individual to assist in the building of a more cohesive family unit.
• Comply with all policies and procedures of the organization and public locations of activities
• Other responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years old.
• Must have High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum l year experience in Human Services field or 6 months experience within JNCS.
